October 12, 2009 MUSKEGON, Mich. (WZZM) - Morning showers didn't keep a massive cleanup in downtown Muskegon from taking place. 96 employees of Alcoa-Howmett in Whitehall were in downtown Muskegon pulling weeds, cleaning flower beds, and sprucing up Western Avenue in preparation for winter. It was part of a month of service project for the company. This mornings' cleaning project is the biggest event. Alcoa-Howmett employees will also build a wheelchair ramp, plant native grasses, and staff a food give-a-way in October. The workers also painted at the Muskegon Museum of Art and installed new bike racks near the city center. Link to video |
