Introducing the new Social Sandbox - a public space to gather, enjoy a social district drink and listen to music. Located at the corner of Western Avenue and 2nd Street, you are able to bring your favorite social district drink from any participating establishment into the space.
We are excited to have the first weekend kick off with live music from Burl & Sprig Stage @ We Discover Fest!
This project was a community collaboration to turn an empty lot into a fun social space! Thanks to everyone involved! Muskegon Lakeshore Chamber of Commerce, City of Muskegon Government, Burl and Sprig, Ramos and Sons Auto Body
The community formally dedicated the Downtown Muskegon Social District Thursday with a Muskegon Lakeshore Chamber of Commerce Stir event on Western Avenue. Come downtown and enjoy the Halloween weekend in the DMSD. The social district will remain open along West Western Avenue from Second Street to Seventh Street 11 a.m.-11 p.m., seven days a week, all year long. However, after the Halloween weekend, city crews will begin reopening Western Avenue to traffic and removing the downtown picnic tables in preparation for winter and snow removal. Downtown Muskegon -- its businesses, attractions, restaurants and beverage establishments -- will begin rolling out Christmas and winter promotions and activities. Join us downtown in the coming months.

Downtown Muskegon has partnered with a county-wide COVID-19 response team to help communicate the importance of following safety guidelines during this pandemic. Together we can help keep our community safe.

Local businesses are the foundation of Downtown Muskegon. The current crisis we are facing is unprecedented, but we are facing it together.
In our bio is a link to all the available funding resources for small businesses at this time. Please utilize them and share with those that can benefit from them.
We will get through this hard time as a community and when it's over, we will come out even stronger.
Stay safe and keep the faith.
Now, more than ever is the time our local businesses need our support. Order take out, buy gift cards, shop online. The businesses are still open and will remain open with help from the entire community!
From Western Market, to brick and mortar, congratulations to Harris & Willow on their new store front! Check them out on Second Street in between Drip Drop Drink and The Crue.
Downtown’s latest mural was created by Muskegon native @jubenalrodriguez and sits on the corner of Third and Monroe. Go on down to Midtown and check it out along with all the great shops and restaurants on Third Street.
Darrel the Barrel has taken over downtown Muskegon! Our friend from Milwaukee washed up on the shore of Pere Marquette earlier this week and @cityofmuskegon has been having fun showing him around our town.
