A Bird in the Hand: Needle Felted Birds

October 7, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

In this workshop, students will create imaginative, three dimensional birds using colorful wool fiber and sharp, barbed needles. Students will explore the physical characteristics of common birds through the artwork of John James Audubon and adapt these in designing their own imaginative winged creatures. This fun technique is easy and adaptable to creating many different forms and figures. This class is appropriate for both beginners as well as those familiar with the technique. Safety procedures are emphasized to reduce the possibility of pricking one’s fingers.
