How Do You Know What Matters, Until You’ve Heard It From a Zombie, Bigfoot or Siren? Section 130 has Answers to Life’s Big Questions
What happens when you inherit your dead dad’s last genie wish? Or your husband catches Venus’s eye? Are today’s college diversity clubs inclusive enough for werewolves? How does a burned out witch unload her seven hundred year old candy house? Join Katrinka Mannelly on Friday, November 29 at The Book Nook & Java Shop in Montague, Michigan for a reading from her new book Section 130 to find out what supernatural beings can teach us about being human.
Section 130 gets its name from the Dewey Decimal system. Section 130 is the mysterious library shelf that contains everything from angels to cyrtids, spirits to mermaids. Like many children, Katrinka devoured these books, working her way through countless titles, studying magical creatures and imagining what encounters with them might be like. As an adult she is still enamored with the inhabitants of section 130, but life has provided a more cynical view. What if interactions with mythical beings were awkward, mundane or funny? Or what if they were extraordinary in the most unanticipated of ways?
