Rhapsody in Blue and Ellington, Too

Saturday, May 2 at 7:30pm, the Playhouse at White Lake presents “Rhapsody in Blue and Ellington, Too” performed by the Shoreline Community Orchestra!  This will be an exciting evening of symphonic jazz!  Conductor Dr. John Blakemore will lead the orchestra and piano soloist, Audra Erb, in the performance of Rhapsody in Blue, as well as Duke Ellington’s Three Black Kings.  An additional treat on this evening of jazz will be the orchestra’s performance of Andrew Grant Still’s Afro-American Symphony.  Right before the concert, at 7:00pm, conductor Dr. John Blakemore will discuss the music, composers, and the connections between their lives and their creative inspirations.  Don’t miss this energetic and informative discussion.  Tickets are $11 in advance or $15 at the door.  Children under 18 accompanied by an adult are free!
