DNR Spring Birding Tour – Canceled

April 11, 2020 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

The DNR Spring Birding Tour is happening Saturday, April 11 from 9:00am – 12:00pm!  Nothing says spring like the “conk-a-ree” call of a Red-Winged Blackbird or the raucous sounds of a Sandhill Crane.  Celebrate spring and explore Michigan’s wetlands with a birding tour at Muskegon State Game Area and Muskegon County Wastewater Systems!

Highlights of the birding tours may include diving and dabbling ducks in full breeding plumage, Trumpeter and Tundra Swans, Osprey, Bald Eagles, Sandhill Cranes and much more!  This tour will be led by DNR Wildlife Biologists, the Muskegon County Nature Club, and MI Birds!  Tours may include a sneak peek driving tour into refuge areas that are normally closed.

If you have questions, please contact the Muskegon State Game Area office at (231) 788-5055. You may register online at Eventbrite.com for this free event.  Please dress for the weather and bring binoculars.  Spotting scopes are also helpful for long-range viewing.  The ground may be quite muddy and wet, so plan to wear boots!
