Wrap it Up: Yarn-Wrapped Coiled Baskets

November 4, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Ages 16+
$30, $27 for ACWL-Nuveen Members
In this fun, hands-on art class, students will learn about the craft of basket making and create beautiful handwoven baskets of their own design using a fiber cord similar to clothesline as well as yarn. This fun technique has been used by many cultures throughout history to create beautiful, functional containers.
Taught by Kari Wilson, each student is provided a handout with clear written instructions and illustrative photographs so that they can create additional baskets at home following the class. This course does not require previous knowledge or experience and students are able to work at their own pace to successfully complete beautiful, functional works of art.
Supplies:
All supplies are included with your registration. However, if you would like to bring your own yarn so you can choose the color you’d like to use, you are welcome to. Students should bring two skeins in different colors or a multi-colored style in a standard weight.
Class minimum: 4
Class maximum: 8
Registration is required. Register here: https://www.artswhitelake.org/…/wrap-it-up-yarn-wrapped…
